Where You
Hold It

Your body has been keeping notes. This is where you finally read them.

Every place you carry tension is somewhere you once had to be strong, quiet, capable or small. The holding kept you safe. It isn't keeping you free. Choose the place that's asking for your attention today, and stay with the question longer than is comfortable.

Reflection, not diagnosis. Pain is real and often physical — perimenopause alone can bring joint pain, frozen shoulder, headaches and back pain. Anything new, severe, one-sided or persistent goes to your doctor first. Then come back and ask what else it might be carrying.

Start where it aches

Tap a point on the body — or a name below the map. There's no right place to begin. The place your eye keeps returning to is usually the one.

How to use this

Read what that place tends to carry. If it lands, you'll feel it before you agree with it. If it doesn't land, leave it — this is a map, not a verdict. Then answer the question honestly, in writing, and do the one small practice before you close the page.

Your body isn't betraying you. It's asking you to put something down.

Self-Compassion Wheel

Six capacities that make self-compassion possible, and the three layers of the work that get in their way.

Mark where you are today. One ring from the centre means barely available to you; five rings out means steadily yours. Work quickly and don't tidy the answers. When you're done, look at the shape rather than the score.

Masks

Mindfulness · Courage

Mindfulness. Noticing that you are struggling without turning it into a verdict about you.

Courage. Letting yourself be seen without the performance that usually goes first.

Thin hereYou can describe what you should feel, but not what you do feel. Kindness arrives for everyone else first.

Which version of me would have to step aside for this to be easier?

Limiting Beliefs

Resilience · Happiness

Resilience. Meeting difficulty without abandoning yourself partway through it.

Happiness. Knowing what genuinely nourishes you, and letting that count as a reason.

Thin hereRest has to be earned. Wanting feels indulgent. Coping means going quiet and carrying on.

What would I have to believe about myself for this to be allowed?

Mother Wounds

Connectedness · Wisdom

Connectedness. Remembering that struggling is human, not proof that something is wrong with you.

Wisdom. Trusting your own knowing about what you need, in your own voice.

Thin hereA private sense of being the only one. Checking an old, borrowed opinion before your own.

Whose voice answers first when I ask myself what I need?
